Firstly, as trained colourists, we are astonished at the recent television shows encouraging women to cut your own hair and box colour your hair, at a time like this. What if it all goes wrong? We cannot do anything to save your hair...for now.
SAY NO TO BOX DYES! AND PLEASE DO NOT CUT YOUR OWN BANGS!
Can we just pre-warn any clients wanting to colour your own hair. 99% of the time your colour is made up of 2 or 3 tones, which you can not achieve with a box. All our hair colours are bespoke to you individually. As professionals, we determine the strengths of peroxide with your colour to your natural colour, depending on what results we need to achieve. Box dyes 99% of the time do not give you the results, stated will be given on the box. Secondly, over lapping box colour or do something you shouldn't, will create banding and possibly over process your hair. This could have a great impact on the health of your hair, leaving you with compromised hair. This could potentially take months and months to rectify, and then be costly. And lets not forget, you could possibly have a reaction to box colours, which could lead to medical care. There is a reason we are trained to use such chemicals, there are reasons for you asking so many questions...You trust your hair stylist, with more than just your hair
